August 17, 2003 Old Town

Truck felt pretty good in practice, was a tight course so you had to drive it. Had new radio and had it cut down to 55 percent on the steering. Like the new radio with its features and all. Tried running the LD3 Pro, but was pulling BAD to one side, so have to figure out what is hanging the steering rack.

Started 5th in the main "A" race, and there were four of us tied on the 10th lap and was coming up, then all of a sudden the truck acted like it didn't want to turn to the left. Ended up finishing 4th, with Lee first, Robert Spence 2nd, and a guy named Doug from Maryland which doesn't mean anything in points in 3rd, and I finished 4th. Lee and Robert had 22, 3rd place had 19 and I had 18.

Found out after the race there wasn't anything wrong with the steering, but had broken the bottom part of the shock mount on the left bottom side, think I caught it on a road rail and it cut it in to. The in turn made the chassis drag when I was trying to turn hard to the right and screwed all up and brought it in during race and steering looking ok, so it was the suspension problem. This pretty much knocks me out of being able to win the Summer points series.

Robert had a new long chassis T-Maxx and is going to put a big block on it, and Josh Spence had his Dominator back stock and out ran Lee's Single speed on a few laps, so they ARE fast.

Good day with weather in the Mid 80's.
