July 13, 2003 Old Town Racing

What a day. It started out with me changing tires back to the Pro-Line 40 series, and ran them through the parking lot for a minute. Heard something that sounded kind of funny on the truck and acted like the slipper clutch was slipping so I tightened it up a little. Well, went back out and noticed I only had front wheel drive. The driveshaft to the rear had broken right into, so had to look through my junk box and found some stock plastic ones to put in.

In the first heat race had some guy try to start it for me and flooded it out when the glow plug wire didn't work from what it seemed, so I ended up pulling it off after the first heat race and using the glow igniter and the starter for the next. Had the guy that has the LD3 help start and he hydro locked the motor and couldn't figure out how to get it started, and kept changing back from the glow igniter to the starter and got Ryan Shaffer to help get it started. I started a little late but came in 4th overall in the qualifying heat races. They had a 3rd one but sat it out as I didn't need to break anything.

We had 5 going to run the race, then Seng and Tiar show up at 5 and want to race. Justin said they could, (but says he told them they wouldn't get any points, that will be left to be scene I guess).

I got into the main race starting in 4th spot. Was leading the whole race, it was a 8 minute "A" main up until about the last 3 minutes, then the truck died coming around a corner. Couldn't find anyone to help get it off the track, then by the time that I did I was 3 or more laps down. Truck started right back up, so must have had the low end jet to rich. Will lean it out some for this next week and see if that helps any. Ended up finished 3rd place with Lee Rader in 1st, Tiar in 2nd and me in third, with Lee with 21 laps and me with 17. Overall I should have finished 2nd though, as they said they were not going to count points for Tiar or Seng, and Seng hit Wally on the first lap and took him out for a few laps and he had to catch up so he finished next place after me, and should have been 3rd if they do the points like they said.

Good day I guess, and truck was really pulling in the backstretch, had to use brakes at the end of it.
