July 20, 2003 Old Town

Today was a pretty good day. Started out trying the slicks that I mounted on the Beadlock wheels and they had the Panther foams in them, but were way too hard and not riding on enough tire, so I will take them apart this week and cut the inside foams this week. Also need to lower the truck a little more.

First heat race went pretty good and truck felt pretty good, but still have problems on keeping it running with the MC9 plugs. Going to have to try the 8 plugs again, or work on the carb more in some way. Hope the Turbo plugs will be able to work after I add the head with the extra cooling to it. I ended up putting the Proline wheels back on the truck before the main and it seemed to run ok. It was a real technical course, but a good drivers course.

In the second heat race the truck kept spinning out when I let off the gas. Found out that the throttle trim was turned to 60 and it was hitting the brake each time.

I ended up going into the main, starting in 5 th place. The guy with the T-Maxx that Spence knows with the 21 in it won, with Wally in second. Both had 23 laps. I came in 3rd with 17 and didn't finish the last lap as the guy doing the pit stuff bent the pins on the starter. Robert Spence came in 4th and Lee didn't start as truck kept stalling out.

Good day and learned more and hope to lower some this week.
