July 26, 2003 Hobby Town Manassas

Day started off pretty good. Car started ok, and ran ok, did bang the boards one time and knocked the ball off on the suspension, but I think that is because I am making them too tight.

First heat car seemed to be running ok, and cut off about once in the race and Steve Petrouski helped me get it going again and finished 10 laps during race before cutting off again. It acted like it didn't want to run at slow speeds.

After playing with it for a while I just set the idle up some and hit the brakes to stop it. Well that was fine until I had to hit the brakes, then it wanted to stall the motor. Come to find out after I got home one of the clutch springs had broken. Guess that is more reason to use a Centax, but this is on my slow motor, so going to leave it the way it is right now.

Didn't even do the main race as there was no sense in getting out and stalling in no time at all. Hope to get things together and try again next time.

Car wanted to turn in the corners in the rear a lot, so not sure if it was too stiff a shock, or just what. It was a hot day, in the low to mid 90's

Each time I learn more though.

I did win a Duratrax Tool kit in the giveaway at the end so the day was ok.
