June 14, 2003 Hobby Town Manassas

Well for once the sun came out and all at one time at that. By 12:00 it was in the mid to high 80's and the asphalt was over 110 degrees, just miserable to be racing. Well I started off with my plastic truck and trying to get it to run. It is the 8 port Sirio with the turbo plug. Couldn't ever get it to run worth anything and kept running hot, so I put a standard plug head back on it and ran ok. Tried running it but was way out of wack with the 1 degree of camber all the way around and the 1" lowering springs which are real hard. I decided to try the Aluminum truck and made about two laps and at the end of the straight the truck just went straight, knowing someone had turned their radio on. Well, sure enough Rick King had, and ran the truck head on into the 2x4 wall, and bent some things back. I said screw it, loaded up and came home. I wasn't going to have my stuff torn up for not many being there. I think there was only maybe 10 total, and I was going to have to run against the Nitro cars. They were only going to have to classes, electric and nitro.

It could be my last time to run out there, just not busting things up for the small amount of people that are out there.

It is also to hot in the daytime and might have to wait until the Fall series, unless I can find some tracks that run at night.
